Executive Summary
Lime Street was engaged by Pablo the owner of cocinoncasa.es to perform a high-stakes migration from One.com to Kinsta. The project began with a critical service outage caused by the legacy host, transitioned into a successful infrastructure overhaul, and concluded with a significant boost in performance and security.

Client:
CocinonCasa.es
Industry:
Subscription-based recipe/delivery service
Service:
Hosting Migration, Performance Audit and Optimization, Infrastructure Setup
The Challenge: A “Fatal Coincidence”
The project began with a critical infrastructure failure. During the initial DNS propagation to Cloudflare, the host (One.com) unexpectedly changed the server IP address without prior notice. This resulted in a “404 Not Found” error, taking the live site offline and blocking access to the WordPress admin dashboard.
Key Technical Hurdles:
Host Instability
Unannounced IP changes and poor support response times from the legacy host.
Security Lockouts
The client was previously forced to use a proprietary host dashboard to access wp-admin, which broke during the DNS transition.
Complex Logic
The site manages recurring subscriptions with custom algorithms to automate precise recurring order fulfillment.
Strategic Solution
The team at Lime Street implemented a multi-phased recovery and migration strategy to ensure zero data loss and improved site architecture.
1
Phase 1: Emergency Recovery & DNS Setup
DNS Migration – moved the domain to Cloudflare (Free Plan) to provide a more stable management layer and leverage the Cloudflare WAF (Web Application Firewall).
IP Realignment – Identified the stealth IP change by the previous host and manually updated A-records to restore the site temporarily for a clean migration.
2
Phase 2: Kinsta Migration & Infrastructure
Data Integrity – Used Migrate Guru to move all database tables and site files to Kinsta’s high-performance architecture.
Email Authentication – Resolved “DKIM Not Verified” errors in Postmark by renewing and adding specific DNS records in Cloudflare, ensuring transactional order emails remained functional.
Environment Clean-up – Systematically deactivated and removed redundant, host-specific plugins (One.com maintenance, spam, and caching tools) to reduce page weight and security vulnerabilities.
3
Phase 3: Testing & Staging Workflow
Staging Deployment – Created a localized staging environment on Kinsta to test subscription renewals without impacting live customers.
Security Hardening – Implemented htpasswd (password protection) on the staging site to prevent unauthorized access and accidental SEO indexing.
Technical Results & Optimization
The migration resulted in a significant leap in site efficiency and developer control.
Performance Gains
Post-migration Google Lighthouse scores reached 90+ on Mobile and ~100 on Desktop, a record high for the client.
Infrastructure Consolidation
Transitioned from external cron-job services to Kinsta’s native Cron management for more reliable subscription firing.
Security
Replaced restrictive host-level access with Kinsta’s native Firewall and brute-force protection, allowing for individual admin accounts and better audit trails.
Project Deliverables
Successful Site Migration
Full transition to Kinsta with zero data loss.
Cloudflare Integration
Enhanced security and DNS speed.
Optimized Plugin Stack
Removed bloated legacy code and verified essential tool compatibility (WP Rocket, Postmark, WooCommerce Subscriptions).
Functional Staging Site
Established a “one-click” testing environment for future development.
Conclusion
The project concluded on May 8, 2025, with a fully optimized site. The client expressed high satisfaction, noting that the mobile performance reached levels never previously achieved. By moving to Kinsta and Cloudflare, CocinonCasa gained a more robust, secure, and significantly faster platform, ready for scaling.

Renewal orders fired perfectly well this morning!! Everything works perfect. I moreover tested performance with Google lighthouse and never got such good performance on mobile… I am very satisfied with your support.

PABLO T.
